We are excited to be introducing our newest product. Biochar Flakes. What is Biochar you ask? Biochar is a stable, carbon-rich charcoal-like material created by heating organic matter in a low-oxygen environment through a process called Pyrolysis. Unlike regular charcoal used for grilling, biochar is specifically designed as a powerful soil amendment that enhances fertility, retains water and nutrients, and sequesters carbon in the soil for hundreds to thousands of years.
Our raw biochar flakes are uniquely made from 100% recycled cardboard - turning everyday waste into a valuable resource. Using a sustainable Top-Lit Updraft (TLUD) pyrolysis method, we carefully heat the shredded cardboard in a controlled, oxygen-limited setup. This efficient, low-emission process produces lightweight, porous black flakes that preserve the natural structure of the material.
These raw flakes are unprocessed and ready for you to "charge" (inoculate with compost, microbes, or nutrients) before use in your plants, garden or farm. Biochar can be applied without charging, but the beneficial results may take longer while it absorbs and stores the nutrients and microbes.
